Submit to God — A 7-Day Journey

Submitting to God is not quitting — it is offering every gift, plan, and breath back to the One who gave them. Today we lay the foundation: worship, prayer, and study are not chores but responses to a Father who already loved you first.

Response: Ask the Lord to reveal one area you have been holding back. Surrender that one thing today — your time, your plans, your worry, your past. He is faithful to receive it.

Many of us pray only when we are out of options. Scripture invites us to pray without ceasing — to bring the small things and the heavy things, the joyful and the grieving, into the same conversation with our Father.

Response: Set aside ten minutes today to talk to God — not as a checklist, but as a conversation. Tell Him what you are feeling. Listen. Then write down one thing He brings to mind.

A surrendered heart is shaped by Scripture, not by noise. Daily Bible reading is how we let God renew our minds, convict our sin, and guide our steps — one chapter at a time.

Response: Open to one of the Gospels today — Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John. Read a chapter slowly. Underline one phrase the Spirit quickens. Carry that phrase into your afternoon.

Worship is not the music team on Sunday morning — it is a life that honors God in the kitchen, the office, the bedroom, and the hospital room. We were created to glorify Him in everything.

Response: Pick a moment today to pause and worship — on the drive, in the shower, before bed. Thank God for one specific thing. Let your spirit lead and your lips follow.

Submission to God requires faith — not because His way is hidden, but because His way is bigger than ours. Faith is the muscle that grows when we obey before we understand.

Response: Identify one area where you have been asking for sight instead of asking for faith. Surrender that need to see and ask God for the willingness to trust.

Before we can transform a city, we must love the people at our table. Marriage, parenting, sibling relationships, and household rhythms are the proving ground for every other call of God.

Response: Choose one family member or close friend to pray for specifically today. Ask the Lord to soften your heart toward them and to give you one act of grace to extend toward them this week.

Submission to God is not a private affair. The same grace that saved us is meant to overflow into our workplaces, our neighborhoods, and our cities. We are sent — not just safe — to be the fragrance of Christ at home and far from home.

Response: Ask God for one person to share this journey with. Pray for them. Then ask the Lord for the courage to invite them into one of our next steps — Bible study, Sunday worship, or our weekly email family.
